“Reading 1” dhe “Reading 2”
READING 1 and READING 2(2004 ) It is an edition in two volumes, thought as a humble attempt at helping English learners with their study. It is a useful means to acquiring new knowledge of English and enriching their own vocabulary with a lot of new words, phrases, idioms etc. The stories included in these volumes, based on Albanian legends and ballads, have been chosen from another Tukaj's book “Faith and Fairies " and are accompanied by an English glossary after each story, according to their appearance in the text. Then, for a further deepening of the study, the third part of the volumes contains the main words, arranged in alphabetical order. Every entry begins with a headword followed by one ore more definitions and accompanied in every case by examples, showing how the head word is used in context, mostly accompanied by respective synonyms and antonyms. The definitions are followed, where appropriate, by idioms or phrasal verbs.
Faith and Fairies
It is the first book of its kind in the English language. It is an interesting prose rendering of the most popular Albanian verse legends and epic lays. The tales of this collection acquaint the English reader with the chief themes and motifs of the Albanian Epos and present an original overview of the epic folk tradition of the Albanian nation.
The Guests
The play has been translated in English, French, Russian and Serbo-Croatian.
The events of the play “The guests" take place nowadays, in one of the major Albanian
cities.
On a rainy afternoon, five people: a bearded man, a man in a bowler hat, another one in an
expensive suit, a woman in her forties and an old man in a wheelchair, gather, coming one after the
other, in one of the apartments of a multistory building.
They do not know each other, but all of them have something in common: they had been
invited by the same person, whom they do not know. After making some efforts to guess the reason
of the call in an unfamiliar house by an unknown person, they learn that the invitation had come
from the lady of the house. She explains that it was precisely her who had invited these five people
and a young girl who had not arrived yet. She also explains that they were not called in vain there,
but because there was a connection between them: their last supper in this world...
