Biography

Mustafa Tukaj, born on 14.11.1952, is a full time contemporary Albanian writer, playwright and translator.

He debuted in 1978 with his first book “The blue football kit number 9 ”. (Children’s stories).

 

Then he wrote the books:

“ The girl and the flag”(1979),
“A day in June” (1982),
“ The bronze tulip”(2002),
“ Faith and fairies”(Albanian legends and Myths – in English), 2002,
“The treasure and devils” 2003, ( a novel for teenagers),
“Kljatvy i Fei”(Albanian legends and myths in Russian) 2009, “
The Rivals” ( a novel for teenagers) 2010.

Mustafa Tukaj has written a lot of drama-plays and comedies, performed in many Albanian theatres., such as
The roots of love”1982, “
The outlaws” 1983, “
Such an end…” 1984, “
When the goodness kills”1985, “
The shadow of the fault”1986,”
The mined world”1987,“
Article 55” 1991,“ The guests” 2012, “
Killed twice” 2017.”

Mustafa Tukaj is now a full-time writer; he has won many prizes and awards.

He is married, has two sons and lives in Shkodra, one of the biggest and most important cities of Albania.
